I take commissions for portraits in graphite, or coloured drawing pencil.

I like to know my sitter before I start work, and prefer to have at least one sitting and to take my own photographs. When this is not possible I still produce very satisfactory results from photographs my client provides. In fact I specialise in posthumous portraits. Multiple photographs help me achieve a more lifelike portrait. I normally work from a worksheet with 4-6 photos printed on it.

Payment is on completion of a satisfactory portrait. If the finished result is not satisfactory, or cannot be made satisfactory, I keep the drawing and no charge is made. No-one has yet rejected a commissioned portrait.

A CD of the digital photographs is included.

Prices

Head and shoulders portraits in coloured pencil are £720.
Head and shoulders portraits in graphite pencil are £1000.
Portraits are usually drawn on A3 paper, 16.5 x 11.5 inches, but can be done in any size for the same price.
Ask about prices for full length or three-quarter portraits.
